Recently I visited South Beach Bar & Grille for a farewell party for a friend moving out of the area.  I’ve been here once or twice before, and always seem to have a good time. Went here on Saturday around 11 am, 1 dollar beers and mimosas were a great way to start the meal.

Best fish tacos on the planet as far as I’m concerned. I had the grilled Mahi, Fried fish and fried calamari. They were all amazing but the grilled Mahi wins, for sure. It’s perfectly grilled with a nice layer of char on it.

SBBG has some great specials just about every day.  $2 Coors Light drafts on Monday night! And their tacos (I had a shrimp one) are quite good.  Even the small “mini” ones are filling.  One of the couples we were with ordered platter after platter of oysters.   Clearly, the oysters are tasty!  Either that, or the couple was feeling amorous…

Yes, it gets packed and busy which is great!  Not surprising for a place with food this good, and specials like they do.  Our server was as quick as he could possibly be in that circumstance, and was a friendly guy all around.  I give him a lot of credit for having to deal with the rowdy bunch that we were.

This is a real bar, no TGIF type stuff here. It’s the real deal, they check IDs at the door and kiddies under 21 get turned away, so leave the children and high schoolers at home, folks.

I washed down my meal with a Blue Moon beer or (fill in your favorite brew, Heineken and Corona will hit the spot too), and you have a recipe for satisfaction.

Lastly - the price! My friends and I (4 people total) ordered a feast, and the bill came out to be about $38.50. The burger combo itself is only about $5, and the fish tacos are about $2.50 if I remember correctly. Who can pass a deal like that up in this economic climate?

In a time where jobs and financial security are a thing of the past, and when your stomach’s pleas for satisfaction aren’t appeased with the offerings met from a few dollars in your wallet, South Beach Bar & Grille is like the shining ray of hope.

Awesome food, great environment and good service, ample TVs for your sports fix needs, and most importantly: AFFORDABILITY. You can’t go wrong. Come eat here, you won’t regret it. I know I’ll be back very soon.
